Omg Bobby Raffin, you followed me back! Ahh! I can’t believe one of the biggest fashion bloggers followed me :’)
Where are you currently living?
The south bay area in california!
Where were you born?
How old are you?
What cultures were you born into? (American-Japanese, right?)
What makes your culture unique especially as a “Happa”?
we don’t really have a culture! we are all different mixes and learn to adapt in different ways to our environment.
What is a stereotype about your culture?
That all hapas are good looking
What do you like best about your culture?
I like being hapa because it is unique. growing up it was hard not having an ethnicity to connect with others but being older, I realize it is something special to be different.
Do you practice any tradition at home, such as taking off shoes before entering home (Japanese)?
no definitely not! my mom is full japanese but does not act japanese at all. so really no traditions except we try to have family dinners every week, which is something my dad pushes for.
What do you consider your diet like? Does your meals consist more of rice? like most Asians..
oh healthy! i try not to eat many simple carbs, like break, rice, pasta, or sugar/sweets. so i eat a lot of fruit because its easy, and lately i’ve been into sandwich and soup
Is your culture family oriented or individualist? explain how.
probably individualist, because as i mentioned we don’t have a culture, but it is really different for everyone. my family is very family oriented, we are close
What do you value most in life? (Fashion?)
family first, always! though i really enjoy fashion, i would not be happy with it alone.
Do you consider your fashion based upon American style or Japanese, etc.?
definitely American, I go for classy, trendy and sexy
Did you come across any culture shock when you visited Guam?
No culture shock other than being so surprised with how similar it was to Hawaii. I feel it is a mix between asia and hawaii.
What did you notice about Guam that’s different from California?
I noticed that it is tax free!! haha the water is so perfectly warm and clear, and the fish are beautiful. So many people expected me only to speak Japanese too and in California people would be amazed if I spoke Japanese. The weather of course is very different too and the brands of fashion - the selection is much bigger in the US.
I know.. this must sound silly. But I really feel that becoming Guam’s first recognized fashion blogger will have so many people learning more about our tiny island. Barely anyone knows where Guam is or what people look like there. So, by having my lookbook more updated with fantastic photography will definitely help boost my portfolio. However, I’m not perfect in any way. I am not a model at all. I am not thin in enough to wear certain clothing. But I am very appreciative and in love with sharing my interest.
I also find that through fashion blogging is very easy to meet other people internationally. I have already met kind hearted people online lookbook within the first month and was in awe to see how many hypes I would get from people that I don’t even know. Compliments about my pictures blew me away because I had no confidence with my own photos; since I compared myself to professional bloggers. Hopefully, my portfolio can attract online stores to actually ship to Guam. I have recently been in such a dilemma with an “estore” because of shipment to my country.
AND THAT REALLY REALLY IS NOT COOL. Guam is USA… We are right by Asia. We should be more known and more respected because of our connection between the two continents.
Anywhoo, I feel like I’m writing an essay to why I should become one. But if you are really interested in my story to why I take a lot of pictures of myself, then you can clearly assess that I am interested in something I can achieve indirectly. :)
I have been getting a lot of Filipino Fashion Bloggers following me lately. I think that is so rad and that they deserve to get more notice because they have such cool blogs! I think tumblr needs a page dedicated to local Filipinos who are dedicated to their fashion. They are dominating lookbook too!
I would make the page but I am not originally from the heart of the East Asia. But yeah, Even if it was just any Filipinos who have the love of fashion would be cool tooo!

you are so strict, i’m a few inches away from my knees and i get flagged for that. just a few inches away and the look is gone. :(
lol, unfair, yo.
I have noticed that sooo many people tilt their heads down in photos at some kind of degree, never look at the camera (rarely), and hardly smile..
My photos are totally opposite from that. I guess that what makes me uniquely Jerzytron.
I am totally obsessed. I always thought about it but felt like I had nothing against the other people. However, they are soooo kind and appreciate more of the article of clothing than the photography itself.
Find me! My name is Jerzy Torres; @Jerzytron
Who doesn’t love giveaways? Especially when the style is totally cute! I think I could pull this off here.. But yet, I would need others to join me. Who knows.. Wish me luck! :)
